Institute of Dance Artistry Announces 2017 Summer Session Classes and Intensives

PHILADELPHIA, PA – 3/14/2017 – The Institute of Dance Artistry (IDA) is pleased to announce our 2017 Summer Session Class Schedule. Our Fort Washington studio features classes on Hip-hop, Jazz, Contemporary, Ballet, and Jumps and Turns. IDA even has Combo classes for young children.

This year we now have summer classes at our Plymouth Meeting studio. Dancers can take classes in Hip-hop, Jazz, Modern, and Lyrical.  We also are offering an adult tap class. The IDA Plymouth Meeting studio also has Combo classes for young children.

The session for both studios runs from June 19th to August 11th. All classes are either late afternoon or early evening so they won’t interfere with our dance student’s daytime activities. Tuition is: 1 class/week= $125, 2 classes/week= $225, 3 classes= $295.

This is an excellent opportunity to study dance with a group of very talented and dedicated instructors. All IDA teachers have a degree in dance. All classes are taught by professional dancers and choreographers from the Greater Philadelphia area.

In summer. 2017 IDA is presenting a series of four dance intensives at our Fort Washington studio for dance students of all ages. IDA Intensives are immersive experiences that give students a focused education in various disciplines by top dance professionals as well as performance opportunities.  An Intensive is also a bonding experience where dancers grow as people and develop lifelong relationships.

Americans are living longer these days, yet most are not feeling strong.  The rate of chronic disease has increased faster each year as many Americans move into their 50’s and 60’s. According to Clayton, despite these facts, there are some things that can be done to lower the risk of developing chronic illnesses commonly associated with aging by supporting digestion such as:

• Limit caffeine intake to two cups daily. Switch to herbal teas that provide excellent digestive benefits. Teas that stimulate digestion and aid in the absorption of nutrients include: ginger, artichoke, dandelion, lemon balm, licorice, peppermint, and fennel.

• Drink eight glasses of 8 ounces of water daily. With aging, people lose their thirst sensation and are more likely to become dehydrated. Water is the most important nutrient that aids in digestion by hydrating the cells in the intestines for better absorption of nutrients and providing the moisture needed for proper defecation and elimination of toxins.

• Include fermented foods in the diet to aid in digestion. Fermented foods will stimulate gastric acid production to digest foods and provide healthy bacteria for intestinal health. Great food options include fermented ginger, kombucha, kefir, sauerkraut, pickles, and yogurt.

• Avoid processed foods and sugar. They only provide calories with no real nutritional benefit. Sugar can serve as a food source for the unhealthy bacteria in our gut and causes inflammation in the body that zaps us of our energy.

• Switch bread intake to breads that are organic, sprouted, and organic whole grain only. These types of whole grains will help to stabilize blood sugar and provide healthy carbohydrates for colon health, which in turn stimulates blood flow to the intestines for better nutrient absorption and help to protect us from colon & breast cancer.

First and most significantly, the church is the source of the good news that no matter how difficult life may be today, God has not forgotten or abandoned either one of them.  Additionally, the church community is an ideal place to be accepted just as one is, whether sad, depressed, angry, resigned, or any other emotion.

Many churches offer some version of a Divorce Care program, which is a tremendous gift to newly divorced people. Such programs provide a confidentially safe place where participants can fully express the wide range of emotions typically experienced after a divorce. Additionally, such a program introduces participants to others who really can understand what they’re experiencing.

Churches who make the effort to support divorcing members not only prove faithful to their mandate to heal the broken hearted, they also lay a foundation for future leaders who can become part of a team of members who reach out to future people whose lives are in shambles because of a divorce.

 “God holds everything and is the center of all of it,” Louis said. “I’m fallen and sinful. My God is bigger than my sin and has my marriage in the palm of His hand. Your faith can get you through every day and even the worst days of your life.” Churches that teach this with actions as well as words can be a tremendous source of hope and healing for their divorcing members and families.

Phan shared the stage with world-renowned figures Astronaut Buzz Aldrin and Lt. Gen Russel Honore. The event was part of the Faculty Leadership Speakers Academy, an event that brings cutting edge leadership innovation to entrepreneurs and other thought leaders. 

Phan shared her story of rising from being an immigrant from Vietnam and stay at home mother to creating a company with billings of 40 million dollars. Phan’s concern for people’s health and the environment led her to invent and patent a water filtration bottle and pitcher that filters water removing 99.9% of impurities, contaminants, and viruses while increasing the alkaline level.  

Phan is on a mission to promote hydration and alkaline ph levels worldwide. When she traveled back to her native country, she reflected on how as a boat refugee she was thirsty with water all around yet unable to drink it. In her speech at West Point, she spoke passionately about how her products are saving lives in third world countries and promoting good heath in developed countries. None of this is invented, and we have to live up to our ability to be innovators and dreamers.”

The other keynote speaker, Col. and Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, an American engineer and a former astronaut shared his next mission. As the Lunar Module Pilot on Apollo 11, he was one of the first two humans to land on the Moon, and the second person to walk on it spoke about going big on his mission to Mars. He commented, “In my opinion, there is no more convincing way to demonstrate American leadership for the remainder of this century than to commit to a permanent presence on Mars, going to Mars without setting up a colony — launching only round-trip manned missions is not enough,  nor would establishing human outposts on the moon.”

Through her humanitarian and business success, Phan has been recognized and honored with prestigious awards. These include a nomination to the top 500 women-owned business due to her phenomenal revenue growth. Phan has received multiple awards from the National Association of Women Business Owners, Business Woman of the Year, Asian Business Association of OC (ABA), Keepers of the Dream from Reader’s Digest and much more.
