According to Hradesky, there are little-known strategies that can be implemented to position assets into tax advantaged accounts so that in retirement, one can pay as little taxes as possible. He calls the strategies one of the best kept secrets in the United States.

Hradesky, said “My approach is holistic and as unbiased as possible, meaning I use a wide choice of different strategies to achieve the goals of my clients while providing my clients with pros and cons on each strategy.  I also am fully fee transparent, meaning there are no hidden fees in any of my services or recommendations. We work with clients in a collaborative process while educating them and guide them to clarity so as to make clear decisions.”

The interview concluded with Hradesky saying, “There are four critical principals in retirement planning:

1. Take the time to educate yourself on the concepts and strategies. What this means is to understand the outcome or the benefits, the concepts of how the vehicle functions and the downsides.

2. Read the books and materials I provide, watch the videos, and with my guidance, read the various products’ disclosures.  Do not start researching on  your own as most people do not know what sources are reliable or even what they should evaluate.

3. Do not expect that your CPA or attorney, alone, can give you sound financial advice in all areas. I am available for joint meetings with my clients and their CPAs and/or attorneys to make sure that everyone is on the same page and understands the proposals and plans I recommend to my clients.

4. Do not fall into the trap, ”It is too good to be true.” The math will do the talking and there are thousands of cases that prove the math is true.

Horses Help Heroes Acquires 501(C)(3) Status

Horses Help Heroes, founded in 2016, has acquired 501(c)(3) status. The organization’s programs in support of disabled veterans are conducted in Gambrills, Maryland.

Horses Help Heroes is a non-profit organization dedicated to making positive change in the lives of disabled veterans, their families, and families who have lost loved ones while serving on active military duty. The organization offers a variety of equine-related programs at no cost to veterans and families. Horses Help Heroes recently acquired 501(c)(3) status.

Under the concept of “returning freedom to those who fought for ours,” the organization is in the process of establishing programs and services for service-connected disabled veterans and their families.

The following programs are planned:

• Small group sessions at the farm, ranging from unstructured time to hang out with the horses, interactive educational experiences, and structured therapeutic activities.

• Short-term individual riding and carriage driving instruction.

• Volunteer opportunities at the farm.

• Family fun sessions including picnics at the farm, trail riding opportunities, holiday photos with horses, and more.

The staff at Horses Help Heroes can also create programs to meet the specific needs of participating groups.

Horses Help Heroes Program Director Kristy Alvarez said, “Helping military veterans who have served our country and helping people through equine-assisted learning are two of my passions. At Horses Help Heroes I am able to combine the two in an effort to improve the lives of disabled veterans and their families.”

Horses Help Heroes runs most of its programs at the former U.S. Navel Academy Dairy Farm in Gambrills, Maryland. The farm, which includes over 800 acres, was established in 1913 for the purpose of supplying the Academy’s midshipmen with healthy, high-quality milk and it remained in operation until 1998. Just one year prior to closing, the Dairy Farm was determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.

Shiver Me Timbers, the Story Pirates Arr Coming to Torrance!

TORRANCE, CA – 28 Feb, 2017 – The Story Pirates – a group of improv artists, musicians, educators, and professional actors who take original stories written by children and bring them to life on stage – are bringing an all new show to the James R. Armstrong Theatre on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 2:00 pm.  The show will feature brand-new stories written by local children.

The “teaching artists” of the Story Pirates excite and inspire creativity in children all over the country.  Founded in 2003 by ten students from Northwestern University, the Story Pirates now have over 300 cast members at their permanent branches in New York and Los Angeles. 

They travel from coast to coast teaching students about writing in a creative and engaging way.  They believe that “desire drives learning” and that “there is a powerful link between literacy and confident self-expression.”  The Story Pirates have reached over 200,000 kids since 2005 and have helped thousands of students fall in love with writing.

The mission of the Story Pirates is “to celebrate the words and ideas of young people and to create confident, literate students equipped with a variety of tools for written, verbal, and artistic self-expression.”  They have created their own writing curriculum and professional development tools, which they take to schools to help teachers learn how to teach writing in a different way.

The Story Pirates are changing lives, one story at a time.  Come celebrate kids’ creativity!

Transformance Celebrates “America Saves Week”

Promoting automatic savings to help people reach their savings goals

DALLAS, TX – 1 Mar, 2017 – As part of America Saves Week 2017, scheduled for February 27 – March 4, Transformance is spreading the message of saving money and urging its network of partners to encourage people into making savings an automatic part of their daily lives.

HELLAS CONSTRUCTION SELECTED BY JACKSONVILLE JAGUARS TO INSTALL TURF AT NEW INDOOR PRACTICE FACILITY AT DAILY’S PLACE

AUSTIN, TX – 1 Mar, 2017 – The Jacksonville Jaguars have selected Hellas Construction to install its Velocity turf at Daily’s Place, the all new covered amphitheater and flex field adjacent to EverBank Field in downtown Jacksonville.  The facility will serve as both an indoor practice facility for the NFL’s Jacksonville Jaguars and a venue for concerts, special events and game day activities.

“We’re building a one-a-kind facility with Daily’s Place and have explored a variety of material options during the design phase,” said Jacksonville Jaguars Director of Strategic Initiatives Nik Sobic. “Given the facility’s dual purpose as both a venue for public and private events and a practice facility for elite athletes, the Hellas product was the best fit and came highly recommended.”

The Jaguars and City of Jacksonville broke ground on Daily’s Place last August following the construction of a brand new south end zone super tunnel that will connect EverBank Field to the new amphitheater.  Known as The Cooler, this on-field premium fan zone is being upgraded with additional Hellas’ Velocity turf. This tunnel is the site of The Prowl, the Jaguars traditional walk to the field on game day and allows fans to get up close and personal with the team. 

“Daily’s Place is a state-of-the-art entertainment venue designed to seamlessly integrate into Everbank Field and offer a world-class experience,” said Thom Chuparkoff, Populous Project Manager. Populous is the architect firm designing and planning the Daily’s Place project. “We’re honored to be a part of this project with the Jacksonville Jaguars organization and Hellas Construction,” Chuparkoff said.

Hellas Construction Business Development Manager Jacques Roman said, “I am very excited for the Jaguars and the City of Jacksonville.” He said, “The Jacksonville Jaguars and their staff have been nothing short of amazing.”

Daily’s Place will feature an iconic continuous roof made of PTFE and supported by a steel structure. The amphitheater will offer multi-level seating for an audience of 5,500. The flex field will feature a regulation-size field built with Hellas’ Velocity turf surrounded by walls that can be opened to extend the gathering space during events or closed for a climate-controlled option during inclement weather. The creation of Daily’s Place is phase 2 of a $90 million investment in the downtown sports complex by the City of Jacksonville and Jaguars owner Shad Khan.

Construction on Daily’s Place is currently underway. The first show at the amphitheater is set for May 27, 2017.

South Padre Island, TX – David Harry Tannenbaum’s gripping historic novel about the Holocaust was 40 years in the making.

“Amazingly, although I am Jewish, I didn’t know anything about the Holocaust until law school,” says Tannenbaum. In law school, he read cases stemming from the Nuremburg Trials. That’s when Tannenbaum first became familiar with the horrors of the Nazi World War II concentration camps that ended the lives of millions of people simply because they were Jewish or because the Nazi government perceived them as a threat.

“After graduation, while doing charity work in New Jersey, I met a man who had his concentration camp number tattooed on his arm,” continues Tannenbaum in a recent interview about the Pittsburgh launch of his latest book. That information started a four-decade long journey of learning about the Holocaust by writing of Out of the Depths, the account of a fictional Holocaust survivor, Dr. Bernard Helgman.

After the war, Tannenbaum’s lead character becomes a brilliant pediatric surgeon in the United States. Helgman left Auschwitz behind, but he could never forget the horrors he experienced, and the actions he took to remain alive while a prisoner.

Tannenbaum’s spellbinding account of life after the Holocaust explores Helgman’s struggle with survivor’s guilt that leaves his personal life in shambles. His life gets worse when another victim from that dark chapter of history recognizes Helgman and exposes him for participating in sadistic experiments on camp prisoners.

Tannenbaum brilliantly explores the unresolved, and perhaps unresolvable, trauma that follows a man long after he leaves the barbed wire fence behind. Survivor’s guilt is now a recognized emotional and psychological condition that sometimes follows military personnel home from the war. The term started to be used after World War I when doctors were seeing similar anxiety symptoms in Holocaust survivors that they observed in soldiers who survived combat or citizens who survived natural disasters, terrorist attacks, plane crashes and sudden loss of jobs.

Tannenbaum’s Dr. Helgman character is haunted by dark memories and remorse. Though not even an adult yet when assigned to work in the camp infirmary, he was forced to assist the SS doctors in their gruesome experiments. His Jewish face was often the last one a victim saw before being subjected to horrific atrocities.  Helgman’s struggle to put Auschwitz behind him is a powerful story of our human drive to survive whatever life throws our way.
